About Julia Bradley

Ohio native Julia Bradley has a passion for all things oboe, including orchestral and wind band playing, as well as oboe and other instrument repair. 


Her past orchestral experience includes performing Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 and Shostakovich Symphony No. 5 with the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra. Along with performing Daphnis et Chloe Suite No. 2 on English horn with the Ohio Music Education Association All-State Orchestra in 2023. She has also performed with the William Mason High School Wind Symphony at the Midwest Clinic in December of 2022 with her most notable performance playing English horn on Paul Dooley’s Masks and Machines.  Her most recent orchestra experience includes performing Puccini La Boheme and Mussorsky Pictures at an Exhibition as second oboe. She’s played under conductors such as Thomas Wilkins, Jeffery Meyer, JoAnn Falletta, Freddy Martin, and Cheryl and Richard Floyd. She has attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Woodwind Quintet Workshop where she was coached by Valerie Coleman and performed Maurice Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin, arranged by Mason Jones. She has been mentored by Keith Sorrel in oboe repair. Julia has engaged in self-study to develop her skills as an instrument technician. She plans to apprentice with instrument repair companies in the future.


Julia has previously studied with Julie Fuqua, Emily Beare, and Julie Grasso. Julia is now pursuing a degree in Oboe Performance and Arts Management from Indiana University. She is in the studio of Linda Strommen.
